Knights of Columbus Relies on Empirix for Testing Mission-Critical Web Applications
The Knights of Columbus is a 1.7-million member fraternal benefit society that provides financial aid to
members and their families. The organization leverages Web technology to serve its members efficiently and
at a low cost. Recently, the Knights of Columbus began using e-TEST suite for load and regression testing of its
new insurance policy and membership platform, which supports more than four million clients.
“We chose Empirix’s e-TEST suite because of how well its scripting capabilities and load testing solutions
satisfy our specific testing needs,” said Knights of Columbus Chief Architect George Dobbs. “We wanted a
test solution encompassing load, functional, and regression testing capabilities in one platform, and one
that would enable us to get up and running quickly. We also felt that Empirix’s offering was the only one
that could grow with us, enabling us to expand our use down the road.”

Systems Integrator Serene Incorporates e-TEST® suite in CRM Testing Service
Global systems integrator Serene Corporation now uses e-TEST suite as the basis for a new CRM application
testing service. The service—Performance, Scalability, Reliability & Tuning (PSRT)—is designed to help clients
enjoy smooth CRM application rollouts and upgrades. Serene selected the e-TEST suite because it integrates
seamlessly with Siebel Test Automation, including Siebel Client Automation Services for functional testing
and the Siebel Correlation Library for load testing. In addition, e-TEST suite is validated for Siebel 7.8
and supports APIs for all Siebel applications.
“We’ve seen firsthand the tremendous positive impact that proactive load testing can have on a CRM
deployment,” said Keith Peters, Vice President, Enterprise Architecture Group at Serene Corporation.
“Empirix has a very unique offering, and a proven track record in helping organizations roll out critical

Tips and Tricks: e-Tester
How can I change a recorded navigation in e-Tester without writing VBA code?
Frequently testers want to change a recorded navigation in a script but don’t want to write a lot of
VBA code in order to do it. The dynamic nature of today’s web applications can adversely affect the
way a recorded script plays back. One useful technique to make your scripts more adaptable to change
is to databank your actions. This practice is very useful in situations where a tester can predict what
will appear on the page.
