Overview:
Empirix, the worldwide leader in Voice-over-IP testing, is seeking a Technical Account Manager for our Indian Territory. We are seeking a dynamic individual with a proven track record in demonstrating and selling products to engineering labs within major Telecom Equipment Manufacturers and Service Providers. The ideal candidate will have field sales experience in the role of a pre-sales technical support engineer, as well as a good level of commercial acumen, is a self starter and highly motivated.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the sales, marketing and engineering team to present products to customers to secure orders.
- Technically qualify opportunities and determine fit for Empirix products.
- Be able to overcome competitors advantages and explore their weaknesses
- Prepare for and deliver field demonstrations of products.
- Organize, manage, and execute on-site customer evaluations of our products.
- Maintain demonstration equipment to the highest standards, and also to ensure its suitability for the demonstrations to be carried out.
- Hands-on diagnostic and trouble shooting of telecom networks.
- Understand and document product problems and feature requests, communicate them internally.
- Work with sales and marketing to develop answers to RFP-style requests.
- Provide on-going customer support as needed.
- Travel mainly within India with some travel to Europe and the USA.
Required Skills/Education:
- 3 years minimum in a pre-sales applications role within the telecom space.
- IP Background in SIP, H323, MGCP and Megaco
- Experience in demonstrating complex, network-based applications, including working knowledge of telecom networks and topologies.
- Ability to qualify an opportunity from a sales perspective
- Experience in preparing RFP responses.
- Proven ability to work independently without significant supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering
Preferred Skills:
- Programming experience in Visual Basic
- TDM Background in SS7, PRI and CAS signaling protocols preferred
